Shannon Thyme Klinger is the Group General Counsel and a member of the Executive Committee of Novartis. Ms. Klinger most recently served as Chief Ethics, Risk and Compliance Officer on the Executive Committee of Novartis. She joined Novartis in 2011 as General Counsel, North America, for Sandoz in the United States. Prior to Novartis, Ms. Klinger worked in the US as a partner at Mayer Brown LLP, senior vice president and general counsel for Solvay Pharmaceuticals Inc., and vice president of marketing compliance and associate counsel for Barr Laboratories/Duramed Pharmaceuticals. She was also a partner at Alston & Bird LLP. Ms. Klinger holds a juris doctor with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame (both in the US). She is a member of the board of directors of the SIX Group.
